Personalised Gifts Website Review

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have recently set up this website and business selling handmade personalised gifts. I used Create to build the website but I chose the design and added everything on there myself. I have had a few hits so far and a couple of sales which I am happy about but was just wanting a quick review from you all. I'm useless with computer's so it really is a first, novice attempt but all reviews would be appreciated.

Hi there i'm not a expert as such so i put myself in the mind of a customer

i like the colors that you have chosen for the theme green gives to me a sense of gifts

I also like

the photos and the background just different than plain white and for me work's and i like the logo

I think what i would like to see is more pictures in top half as on my screen i just see the logo and the writing till i scroll down further i think some pictures up in top half would give great first impression and a sense of your business straight away

i hope this helps and im sure someone will come along with more advice

No, that is very helpful - thank you.

Hey the site is ok for that. But you need maybe another Logo more professional. It is to simple I think. Maybe you need some ideas then look on that webdesign agency. ;) Good luck!

I think it’s an excellent start to your business. The logo feels really bland to me however, the text in it is on the grainy side and just seems out of place. Also the two different greens that you have going on seem to clash (The green heart vs the menu color). Being completely honest the site just doesn’t peak my interest like it should. I also think you should experiment with different ways to photograph your products to make them stand out more. Take for example the image you have for your napkin rings, that is an interesting and dynamic shot and it makes me interested, whereas the others are much more plain.

I like the site, but the logo is pretty poor. A few quid here would be money well spent.

Yes the logo needs some work. Try 99 Designs. Also you need to brighten up the site and give it a bit of character. Not sure if the wooden background does it any justice. Have the 3 images above the fold and the text below it.
