I've just signed up, this looks like a great forum.

I'm a wedding photographer, and I mostly work on my own website, as well as a few small clients.

At the moment I'm working on a remake of my website, due to the fact I created the whole thing in tables! (Better than the 2002 mk1 version I did using frames!!) Funny when you look back at what you've learnt and how far you've come!

The new version of my site uses tables made in divs, to sit the site centrally, uses php includes for elements like menus, header, footer than many pages call on, and I'm trying to conform as much as I can to w3c (within reason)

Anyway, here's my site (new version online before going live) old version without the /pre/).

I look forward to spending some time on here and improving my web knowledge!

Nice work, looks a lot better : )

BenB Hi there,

Did you try to put layers in a table?

I am newbie, so forgive naivety.

I am wondering. I found that table centers nicely your web page. But then working with layers is so easier and gives so much more flexibility then depending on tables.

I tried, but layers wouldn’t go into table. I am using DW8.

I know I can nest layer inside layer, but can I center layer? Without actually giving it precise positioning relation to top and left edges?

Any idea?

Best,
