im currently developing a website so users can place free ads for the vehicles.

i have a drop down menu that will have makes and models of vehicles.

 

what legal stuff and disclaimers do i need to put in place to cover myself and not cause future problems?

You could read though terms etc.. on a site that does the same as what you offer and try to write up something similar, also you may find some pre-written terms online.... safest bet i would guess is to get a solicitor to write up whats needed.... sorry if this isnt very helpfull

I don't think anyone is going to give you a word by word reply to this, you need to do the donkey work yourself. I wouldn't worry too much, it's simple enough really.

Study them, don't straight copy them, but lend off their experience in the field to produce your own T&C's, also have a privacy policy (again plenty of examples around that you can 'lend' from).
