How Should I Make A Searchbar?

Featured Replies

Hey guys!

Nowadays I'm making a site using Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 and I would like to insert a searchbar.

The visitors would use that searchbar to navigate on my site and to search for specific information since the webpage will be so big that they would not be able to find what they want without this.

What I would like to know is that:

-How should I make/insert a search bar in Adobe Dreamweaver CS3?

-How does a searchbar work?

-Should I tag/label each article to let the search bar find them?

-I would hear any useful information about search bars kindly.

Besides that I would like to know if it is very complicated to make my search bar like this one or not?I am referring to the tab that show up instantly whenever the bar finds a match.

Thanks for the help gotten in the future:

A searchbox is just a HTML form with an input field and a button.

You'll need a script to index your site and process searches made by your visitors. Have a look over at www.hotscripts.com under the PHP section, there are many listed there

If you use a premade site search script this will index everything for you, so I'd say no
