August 29, 201115 yr Hi folks, I normally use Adobe fireworks. How many hours does it take you (normally) to design ONLY the home page design for lets say: A. e-commerce site, B. Information/branding site C. Heavy content magazine type blog site Thanks in advance PhilD
August 29, 201115 yr I always (key word) prefer to have at least 2 days, that way I can come back the next day and have fresh eyes on the project. But as always, you rarely get what you want/need on most projects.
August 30, 201115 yr Really depends on the client type, the client budget and the style required. So i can't vote in the poll as the answer would be 'All or more'
August 30, 201115 yr It always fluctuates, I found the best way to speed up the process is to only deliver one mockup at a time instead of the industry standard of 3 initial concepts. This often leads to the client taking bits from each and creating a monster. I say show them one , if they don't like it at all start again, if they like some parts and not others then rework it. It's always nasty when they go and pick the one you're not overally pleased with aswell. Since starting my new role as creative services manager in my new workplace I introduced this method and we get designs signed off much sooner than usual most usually receiving the first mockup and saying " I LIKE IT ! LET'S GET GOING !" ( In Spiderman Daily Bugle Boss Voice ) Sorry I can't vote on the poll
August 30, 201115 yr I'm very quick in Photoshop, so mockups probably take me 4-8 hours for a single page. Less if there are elements I can bring in from another PSD. However, I usually have either thought about it for days or sketched it to death on paper (sometimes even wireframed it) so it's really just putting the ideas into a PSD form for me.
