August 27, 201115 yr Does anybody use this plugin? Having a real issue with it displaying an incorrect path/page name!!!
August 27, 201115 yr Author What's wrong with the normal Wordpress breadcrumbs - what does NavXT do that the default Wordpress crumbs don't? For starters, it makes itself obvious in the plugins that it's available - I didn't even know there was a 'built-in' WP one. ;z
August 27, 201115 yr Author Hmm, just tried a different breadcrumb plugin and am getting the same end result. What's happening is this; I have two test posts set up on my blog homepage and when clicked, the breadcrumb trail always shows the path to the first post. The actual link works; as in it takes me to the correct post, just the breadcrumb trail is incorrect. Not sure what code I need to post but here is the code to my index.php <?php get_header(); ?> <? if(have_posts()): ?> <? while(have_posts()): ?> <? the_post() ?> <div class="blog-thumbnail"><a href="<?php the_permalink(); ?>"> <?php the_post_thumbnail(); ?> </a></div> <div class="blog-title"><a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" title="<?php the_title(); ?>"><?php the_title('<h2 class="blog-h2">', '</h2>'); ?></a></div> <p><? the_time('F j, Y') ?> at <? the_time(); ?> by <? the_author_link(); ?></p> <p><? the_content("Continue reading..."); ?></p> <p><span class="blog-cat">Posted in:</span> <? the_category(', '); ?> <span class="blog-tag">Tagged in:</span> <? the_tags(''); ?> <span class="blog-comments">Comments:</span> <? comments_popup_link('No Comments. Leave a reply?', '1 Comments', '% Comments', '', 'Comments disabled'); ?></p> <div class="post-tramline"></div><!-- /.post-tramline --> <? endwhile; ?> <? endif; ?> </div><!-- /#main-content-left --> <?php get_sidebar(); ?> <?php get_footer(); ?> And here is the header (with the breadcrumb trail code) <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en"> <head> <!-- Meta Data & SEO --> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Lewes Website Designer Blog | RootHost</title> <meta name="description" content="RootHost are a professional web design company from Lewes, East Sussex, specialising in the design and development of beautiful, w3c standards compliant web sites." /> <meta name="keywords" content="web design, freelance web designer, standards compliant, lewes" /> <meta name="robots" content="noodp,noydir" /> <!-- /Meta Data & SEO --> <!-- Styles & Links --> <link href="<?php bloginfo( 'stylesheet_url' ); ?>" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://www.roothost.co/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" /> <!-- /Styles & Links --> <?php wp_head(); ?> </head> <body> <?php include(ABSPATH.'../assets/ssi/page-peel.html'); ?> <div id="tagline-full-width"> <div id="tagline-wrap"> <div id="tagline-h1"><h1>Web Design Lewes - Website Designers Sussex | RootHost</h1></div><!-- /#tagline-h1 --> <?php include(ABSPATH.'../assets/ssi/header.php'); ?> <div id="topper-full-width-internal"> <div id="topper-full-width-internal-content"><?php require('../assets/ssi/topper.php'); ?></div><!-- /#topper-full-width-internal-content --> </div><!-- /#topper-full-width-internal --> <div id="topper-full-width-base"></div><!-- /#topper-full-width-base --> <div id="breadcrumb-full-width"> <div id="breadcrumb-content"><p class="breadcrumb-blog"><span class="breadcrumb-blog-base">you are here:</span> <a href="http://www.roothost.co/" title="web design home">home</a> <span class="breadcrumb-blog-base">/</span> <?php if(function_exists('bcn_display')) { bcn_display(); } ?> <span class="breadcrumb-blog-base">/</span> </p> </div><!-- /#breadcrumb-content --> </div><!-- /#breadcrumb-full-width --> <div id="breadcrumb-full-width-base"></div><!-- /#breadcrumb-full-width-base --> <div id="main-content"> <div id="main-content-left">
August 27, 201115 yr Author In fact, I'd argue that breadcrumbs are pointless and even negative on the majority of wordpress sites - most wordpress sites have 2 or 3 depths at most. Mine are certainly pointless at the moment - as they wont work properly!
August 27, 201115 yr Author Hmm, i don't think it's a breadcrumb issue, seems like an issue with the way the posts are displayed on the main blog page. Anybody take a look at this please? Edited August 27, 201115 yr by roothost
