Help with WP.

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I'v bought this WP theme called "TheStyle", installed it and tried to edit it here and there and make some changes, but there are some thing I simply cant figure out how to do, and I know a little bit of HTML.

If you visit www.shakelab.com - that is my site - you'll see that I have put some stuff onthere for testing.

What I want to do:

First off, the three topics that are there are ones I made through WP, but as you see there are no space between the topics as there is in the original theme which is here - http://www.elegantth...eview/TheStyle/ - I have looked through all the codes and can't figure out where to make that space.

Second, I would like to remove the search function on the left side.

Third, if you press one of the topics on my site, I would like the "posted by *** on ***......." to be removed as well.

Hope somebody can help me.

Regards, XelisM

I can't really help you as i'm not to up with Elegant Themes. Pretty nifty theme though.

Without having access to the actual theme i'm thinking that maybe...

<div class="entry small">

May need some margins added to it?

Yeah the theme is really awesome, except it's hard to customize it I think. I cant even fint the file where <div class="entry small"> is written, I've tried opening all the index files, but cant find it.

No loop!

Can you do a theme wide search for that div class?

I don't know how to do that, but when I right click my site - www.shakelab.com - I cant see what file I have to look for!? Weird right? Would you be able to help me Mike if I sent you the theme? Only if you have the time for it! :]

Actually I just thought of something, this WP is driving me crazy, it's really hard to customize it! Do you know if it is possible to just make the post-thumbnail thing exactly like it is in the theme, then apply it to some standard HTML/CSC coding? Because that I know how to do!

No, not really, there is no space automatically created between the posts for example. And I can't figure out how to remove the "posted by" text. What is your mail? I'll send you the theme!

okay.. i looked up your problem.

am attaching two images. the "entry small" has an inline position:absolute style in 1.jpg which is a capture of the preview at elegantthemes

your site is missing those inline attibutes thus all the entry small class instances are positioned relative to the parent container and each other. that is why when the changes, all the others are affected

if you changed it in to position:absolute in main css file, it would be okay.

hope this solves ur problem
