hi, I made this through Fireworks, I don't think you can see when you hover but when you hover over the words 'home' 'work completed' etc its a hotspot with links to different pages :) I assume many of you may look and think "amateur" haha but its my first and i'm proud! :)

Just thought I'd share my first bit of digital art work with y'all.

Not bad for a first attempt, but the back ground is blurry and the colour of the font doesn't really work. Also maybe consider adding a very subtle drop shadow to the text, and when I say, subtle, VERY subtle as a big drop shadow looks pretty amateur.

Any idea how I make it not blurry? The actual image was rather tiny prob 150x150 pixels and I enlarged it through Fireworks. I'll look into shadows.

many thanks :)

Yep, not bad for your first shot.

One tip, try not to have your link-text made up of two lines.

Now you have "work completed" which looks ugly as it is, here you could just use "portfolio" or "clients".

Same for "photo gallery", skip the word photo.

BTW. work completed and photo gallery could be the same page as your photo's are usually of completed jobs/gardens.

You must also have noticed that your image is blurry, I hope.

Do not repeat that, no more blurry stuff, google has lots of alternatives.

Another point to make is the balance between background and font, your background has a light glare over it which gets too light to see the text.

You should make that background a bit darker, or use a (minimal) shadow on the text.

Last point to make is that the image does not fit a gardeners website, more robot wars.

Keep it up.
