Project Management tools

Featured Replies

Hi All,

First off I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask.

What project management / Task management tool do you use and why?

I am looking at using Basecamp. Does anyone use it and is it worth the price?

depends what you want/need to do. Excel is simple as if you just want to do a task list and tick them off. If you're wanting to do all that Gantt chart malarky or estimates/actuals then I'm sure there's loads. Me, I can't stand all that.

Basecamp has a free plan. It's a little link below the main packages IIRC. Give it a whirl and see if it's worth it.

I've used it a few times and it's pretty handy.

If you're gonna have several decent sized projects on the go at once, or projects where several people need input, or stuff where you'll have a constant stream of files, specs, etc then I'd say go with it. It's easy to use and it's fair cheap. There are self-installable alternatives but it depends on whether it's worth your time over a couple of quid a month.
