Would Changing my wordpress cause me SEO problems?

Featured Replies

Hi , Would a complete change of theme cause my site any SEO issues based on google already indexing the site ?

Or is the Theme just as it states , a mere overhaul of its look/design ?

your seo will be fine dw :) you might have to edit all the tags in the new theme thoug thinking about it...

Thank you Kingy for your reply , would i need to alter all the tags if i used a SEO optimizer like YOAST ? would YOAST keep all the tag settings for me ?

Not for all the images, you would have to do them manualy in the themes folder,

however changing the theme will not stop yoast creating SEO in your content

As said above it depends on the theme.

I'd also recommend checking the header file or viewing the page source in your browser to make sure your metatags are being created. Some themes don't seem to support them correctly, or they might clash with some SEO plugins.
