January 7, 201115 yr Hi there, I'd like to know if Webeden are a good hosting company to use? Also, I have a website which I have uploaded with a different host and domain name and I'm considering chaning the domain name and uploading it to webeden host provider, is this easy to do? are some hosts more difficult for uploading websites than others? and is it easy to change domain names for a website? I Appreciate any advice you can give, many thanks.
January 7, 201115 yr Have you done any research on them so far? Looked for any reviews or feedback? Checked how long they been going? Phone them and see if they answer the phone? Have a look over their T&C's too, see if anything looks unagreeable... There hosting in France it seems, so if your website is targeted at a UK audience, it wont do as well if hosted outside the UK... As for uploading, thats the same, typically everywhere, you upload files via FTP, DB's typically via a web DB interface, and should be able to change your primary hosted domain name anytime. Another thing to check too is, if you create your website with Webeden, what happens later if you want to take that elsewhere? Typically, a LOT of these web builder services lock in your website, giving you no way to access it to take it with you if you change companies, so if you leave, you loose it all... Seen a lot of heartache over things like that... People put in a few years of hard graft, then want to close it or take it down for a while, only to find its either keep paying, or it all vanishes, zero backups, no way to download a copy or anything... A lot of those free forum providers who later hit you with bills for things you didnt know about do that too, in giving zero ways to take a copy of your community you spent all your time building up, so your stuck with that or nothing. Check with them too, if you can point your domain name at them too, you wouldnt want to be forced to use some domain or address unique to them, as you would just be promoting them, and not yourself...
