Hi

This is my site, i want to know what you think but be truthful. I want feedback, negative or positive. I am learning slowly. Any help will be much appreciated, if you don't like something tell me how to change it please.

well, its not professional looking, so if your going to sell web services and print services, you need a more professional looking site. The Nav text is barely readable and the layout is really plain and basic. If you go File>new, you can start again. look at some tutorials online etc, and look at other companies that offers this kind of service, to see their sites and how look.

Use a range of blending options, layers, layer styles, effects, fonts, font effects etc

I'm pretty sure everyone is aware what it is basically saying, just a helpful hint, make sure you 'basically' say it next time.

color, colour? they are the same meaning, but spelt another way

MY oppinion: It looks terrible and the font looks awful! It needs to be more fluid in the design and a different font such as Verdana should look alright. Also dont mess around with too many fonts as that makes a design look bad too.

 

 

Try to stick to 1 or 2 colours when designing a website.

I think this is good for a first attempt. I would say do some reading on typography, don't get too bogged down with the details as it's like opening a can of worms, (lots of info), but just follow some basic principles and you will have a better looking site.

Have a look especially at point 4 in the second link I gave you, it will help you to focus the fancy fronts you use, so that they are effective.

As above though i agree - another point is that when your adding stuff you are making it all 2 big. I did this too, it just takes practice!

 

follow some tutorials and see what happens. Even modify a template (it's how I started)

Heres hoping this is better received, obviously i want your comments again good or bad. I feel that this is a better design than the last one. I have obviously changed everything name, colours etc. Also, any tips for when i slice up the template? I know the basics but was wondering if there is anything i should be careful of.

 

 

Just one other thing my url for this site would be: www.strikethroughdesignandprint.com, any ideas on how i could shorten this.

Thanks Ash, any tips for slicing.

well, on the left (if your tools are on the left, your slice tool is below the crop tool. Click that, then you can start slicing up your PSD Sounds harsh lol
