I have been pointed towards a hosting company, cyberhostpro, as I want to move away from heart and get a reseller account in the new year.

 

They seem pretty decent regarding the prices and they have live chat and telephone support. Reviews on google seem good but has anyone on here had any experience with them?

To be fair, it totally boils down to what you want.

 

Its a reasonable assumption to say that the higher the resources they offer, for your £, the less resources your actually going to be able to use, as server tolerances will be lower.

 

So for example, while our shared hosting is fine for something like a vbulletin community with 10k members, they say thats too much and will push you towards a VPS (Which will be slower than shared)

 

Its odd because it totally stands to reason that the busier your website is, the less chance there is of it being a static html website. The sort of websites that will knock out 50GB a month in traffic, will not be the small 10 page brochure websites, it WILL be the exact type of websites that are dynamically driven, thus needing CPU and memory to back it up...

 

So, if you have a static brochure website, no DB's, shopping carts or forums/galleries etc, then that 50GB of traffic will be ok, but then, if you really have a website like that, you wont need anything even close to 50GB a month, let alone the 300GB a month...

 

Its really how each host balances what people need realistically...

 

Tons of hosts will offer you endless resources, knowing full well that the types of websites that would actually need that much are not suitable for their shared plans, and "some" will sell you what you actually need, and can use to its fullest extent.

 

Heart and 1&1 all get a bashing, and the bashings always come from those who know what they are doing, and actually need to use the resources they have purchased, then wonder why when they get shut down.

 

Look at hostgator, they sell unlimited everything, yet if you read vbseo.com, you see endless complaints about forums being shutdown for hitting 2% usage limits on shared servers :-(

 

So it totally depends on what your website is doing...

 

Huge allocations for cheap prices also attract the type of internet neighbours that not everybody wants too...
