Looking for feedback on site

Featured Replies

Hi,

Some of you might have seen this already, I was in the help section a couple of times... nearly there now, just at the final stages.

www.durningelectrical.co.uk

It is the first website I've done properly, any other one was a college project that never went live.

So any feedback on design, layout or even tips on better SEO for it is appreciated.

Cheers.

When a customer visitis a website, they usually form an opinion about you within 5 seconds. So.... I looked at your site for 5 seconds and closed my eyes;

Looks good, clear and pro. Font looks a little basic.

After looking a little longer.... it is a basic site (as Im sure you know), but it probably does what you need it to do, i.e tells potential new customers what you do.

However, and here is the killer; Not once on your webpage do you mention the word "electrician". If I was living in your area and wanted an electrician, I'm pretty sure the word "electrician" would figure in my google search. This makes me think you might not have considered SEO very seriusly, which means you probably wont get any visitors. Read up on SEO and spend 10 times longer on it than you did creating your website. If you want to pm me I do SEO work and cuold come up with some options for you.

Hope thats of us, on a big positive I think the overall layout is really nice.

Thanks for the feedback. In terms of the copy, i can honestly say that I haven't even read it all, it was provided by the client.

What is the normal procedure for web designers, do they usually take the copy and reword it to improve SEO?

I've spent time making sure everything is valid, and included meta data for improving SEO.
