Problem with website display on Mac

Featured Replies

Hi there

First post and I'm asking a question!

I've basically tried setting up a website for myself as an online portfolio for my graphic design work. I quickly knocked it up at weekend, mostly in Photoshop and then just sliced it into Dreamweaver, rather than messing around with tables, CSS, text etc.

The problem I have is that I built it on my PC and it looks fine. However when I open it on my mac at work it looks terrible. The slices I have seem to have a different background colour to the actual background colour of the document so it doesn't look seemless. Instead it looks blocky.

I've used the right Hex value and can't seem to figure it out. Is it something to do with the quality that I've saved the slices out at?

Oh and I know that I should really have set it out at around 800px rather than the size that I've made. I'm going to spend some time at the weekend rectifying it.

The site is at www.logandesigns.co.uk if you would like to have a quick look if you're on a mac

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Mark

looks fine to me.. you should probly mention what browser you were using, what os (ie. 10.4, 10.5 etc) and what colours the site is suppost to be lol.

Mac will display colours differently from PC. I think you can preview it in Photoshop by switching different colour profile for the proofing.

The colours will also depend on your calibration of your monitors. Have you done this?

The quality of the monitors will also play an effect. It's very common now to find LCD monitors with 16.2M colours as oppose to 16.7 because they're cutting corners to get the refresh speed down. That might impact your colours, as well as the monitors contrast capabilities.
