Google driving me nuts

Featured Replies

Got to work this morning, did a Google search for a website I'm doing SEO for and they came up Number 2 on Google, refreshed my cache and did a new search and it came up 12th. Any ideas why this happens?

Not entirely sure - your best bet is to launch an incognito window (Ctrl + Shift + n) in Chrome. or.. to clear cookies + browing history and make sure you are logged out to see what other people might see.

Remember though - Google is customised per person and makes changes to the their algorithm constantly. Upto 400/500 changes a year. This is more than one a day. You can go one of two ways with SEO.

Collect lots of data (better for big agencies) on a hourly/daily basis. Or just leave the checking - do the work check in once a week with the rankings.

Well it is really issue of concern. Can anybody tell why it happened. I'll surely be interested in knowing as it could happen with me too some day...
