Just wanted to get your opinions on this website I'm making for a university charitable society. It's VERY unfinished at the moment - but you can see the general direction I'm heading in I hope. The plan was to create something simple and clean, but I'm a bit worried that it looks just a bit bland... Need some impartial advice from people who wont just say it looks great to please me!! Any tips or advice would be great, thanks

To put it plain and simply:

ok then, heres a screenshot of the main page until the actual site is checked out

 

the ugly bottom right box will hold an ad for an event by the way, and it fades through the various adverts - looks like i caught it mid fade. (current adverts used are just placeholders too)
