Thanks Shaun Well i don't think theres really any dislikes persay but i think you should have alot of things like basic profiles and such to draw in more people to use your forum. Like heres a few things i'd add 1.Easy to use admin panel 2.Profiles 3.Status updates 4.Easy to use template system 5.Category's and subcategory's 6.Ect... Hope this helped some
July 19, 201016 yr Biggest thing that annoys me is you cant delete your account/data from most forums. I guess if your doing a web design/development forum then some kind of stackoverflow-esque feature would be good for people to ask questions and get answers. Another thing that bothers me about forums is there is a lot of extra crap thats not needed, taking a look around here for example, there are loads of features I don't want/need/use... share this topic (how many topics here have ever been shared?), those stupid forum select/jump menus (novelty wore out in 1996), next and previous topic carousel navigation (never use them), users viewing this topic (who cares, why waste db load), the WYSIWYG reply editor (not always necessary, on/off toggle would be better), last visit time (who cares), calendar rate topic I prefer simpler forums like vanilla and nabble, essentially all I want on a forum is topics & replies. Edit: Just deleted everything I dislike from the DOM with firebug and it looks way nicer

Im not sure id make much use of that either... I will definatly be taking some ideas here, Including delete account button Thanks Shaun

One on this forum that annoys me is the topic preview - how clicking the small icon brings up a silly bubble. What's wrong with giving the topic link a short snippet of the topic - E.g. hover over some of the topics at http://forums.overcl...display.php?f=8 - you have an instant snippet of the topics content without any clicks at all. Ads on forums annoy me too, especially when you see the same ads every day. Have personally disbaled all the ads on this forum. I hate adds also, and topic preview, thats kinda pointless, you may aswell view the topic in full, i totaly agree
