July 11, 201016 yr I have started doing a web project. I have been given a template from the client to use. The images folder has all the images in the site. So, i needed to edit the images to put tex on them. It was going well, then suddenly the gif files would not open in photoshop. The shape of the image is there, but it is filled with little white and grey sqaures. I downloaded other editing software, and the same thing is happening. I am really at a loss n what is happening here
July 11, 201016 yr Author I dont know. Basically my wifes friend, who is a software enginer got me this job as a learning process. I designed a template, but they decided to buy there own, and i edit it. So i got the template with everything included. In the images folder i started working on the buttons, putting tex on them with photoshop, then saving the file. But, suddenly the gifs are no longer working. When i open one up, they appear like i said, white and grey little sqaures.
July 11, 201016 yr Author The small grey and white squares means the image is transparent? This is what i dont understand, as the other files in the image folder are gifs, and they worked fine. I opened photoshope and opened one of the files that are not working. Like i said, the shape of the image is there, its just the squares. I decided to add tex to it and save it. When i preview the image, the only thing i see is the writing and thats it, no Button. Because of my lack of experience, im sure im just doing something wrong.
July 11, 201016 yr Post a screenie of these troublesome squares and upload one of the affected files in an attachment here. White and grey squares (chessboard style) are used to show transparency in Photoshop and other image editing softwares.
July 11, 201016 yr Author Think i can post some of the files through email, if anyone is interested. This is the second time i have had help from this forom
July 11, 201016 yr The image is a blank, transparent image saved in the .gif format. When you saved it, it didn't save the text you said you added - I'm not sure how that's happened.
