Zencart

Featured Replies

I have recently gained a client that is wanting to use Zencart as their ecommerce platform and was wondering if its difficult?

What is the process? Do I code it into HTML CSS first?

Has anyone got any step by step guides of actually building a custom template that I could follow?

Chris

Hi Chriss

Its quite straight forward, you just need to install ZEN Cart onto the server, (many hosting companies come with a one click install) - similar to installing any open source platform (requires a mySql database)

Once the cart is installed, you then customize the template though CSS and HTML.

I'm doing the same thing currently using OpenCart. My first foray into ecommerce too.

Once its installed on the server it is just a case of editing the CSS and XHTML. The most difficult part was sifting through all the files to find out where everything is placed, but once you get to grips with that its relatively easy.
