Look forward to your comments on a site I created for an interior designer in Arbroath, Scotland.

Nice and clean. Normally I like to see more color, but this goes well with the subject.

 

Only thing that looks a little off for some reason is this little white corner (see image):

 

I would have it overlapping a little maybe, just a thought.

Hey nice site it looks very clean and crisp!

 

I like the colors but, the grey on the black can be a little hard to read, just a suggestion.

 

Maybe having a Current Page style might be nice for the suggestion above.

For me, the logo doesn't assume enough prominence. Maybe increase the font size a bit, or add some colour/decoration? It just seems to fade into the background at the moment..

 

As others have said, the rest of the site looks grand

looks nice but maybe you could decrease the verticle space on both top and bottom sides of the page title, at the moment there's a risk of visitor eyes being directed towards that large space instead of the main content area and it almost makes it feel incomplete like something's meant to be there but you've just not got around to add it yet if that make sense?

I like it, clean and crisp.

 

Don’t know if it’s just my system but the page is like 4 times the screen width see pic below. At the end is some more navigation? I assume this isn’t the plan?

 

Must be some dodgy coding in there because my browser says 'error on page'.

 

The header seems too big and doesn't look right.

 

The bottom visa/etc images don't look right against the grey background. Choose better quality ones without the white edge pixels or leave them out.

 

The actual photo's of the interior design work are very good but somehow this site doesn't show them off as well as it could.

 

It should be less about the website itself and more about the photo's that you showcase. Give careful consideration as to how you will achieve this and the site will be a success, IMO.

I have made a few changes.

 

The title now overlaps the side slightly and has less margin above and below.

 

Menu list items have been brightened up.

 

Screen width/scrolling problem has been corrected. There was an H1 title that I had text indented out of the way then promptly forgot all about.

 

The JavaScript errors come from the WordPress plugin I have adapted to use for the shopping cart. I could go through and correct them but it would just overwrite any changes on upgrade. The plugin is a bit script heavy as well which is not great for loading time, but it works quite well and the plugin was free so can't complain too much about relatively small problems.

 

I know the Visa credit card strip looks a bit funny, I will be replacing this but I am still waiting on terms and conditions/Delivery policy/Returns policy etc from the client and will do something with the footer detail space then.

One more little thing though, the 'back to top' button has a slight overlap when you hover over it.

 

Apart from that, really nice site

Further to my earlier comments, the header looks fine in Google chrome and probably works fine in Firefox - it's Internet explorer where it looks wrong so I guess this is more a case of checking it in various browsers..

 

Perhaps testing it in W3C for CSS validation will cure the problems.

back to top button overlap was a good spot, I hadn't noticed that one. sorted now.

 

Header problem was in IE7 and previous versions and I solved it by simply moving the floated DIV containing the advert thingmy before the logo. I have no idea why it created extra space between them, the joys of IE!

 

The same problem was making the search box create extra space and pop down below on IE6 and completely disappear in IE7 (7 didn't change the height of the menu wrap and it must have been hidden underneath in the overflow.)

 

Thanks again for the comments, they helped a lot. Going to install a PNG script for IE6 users that will sort out the problem of no transparency on the images. But later, cause its time I went to sleep
