I know most of you get annoyed by it, but I'm about to do a website for a photographer and looking for inspiration. Most of these sites use horizontal scrolling to display their portfolio.

I think for photography portfolio website a horizontal scroller works well. Crazy photos in the third example good find!

In my opinion horizontal scroller is absolutely fine

It's sooo much better than this flash websites that take ages to load;/

 

but if I were you I wouldn't go for any other backgrounds than grey or black..

Photography portfolios are shown on monochromatic colors for a reason.

I think horizontal scrollers are ok but if it was me I'd have an auto scrolling box that activates on hover, save people going down to the scrollbar and doing it themselves.
