MSIE CSS issue

Featured Replies

Hi all, currently having problems trying to get the background div appear centred in MSIE 7.0 and below. It works fine in safari, firefox, opera, MSIE 8 and chrome... is there an extra few lines of CSS or HTML that I need to append to get MSIE 6 and 7 in particular to comply (not too concerned about MSIE 5 and below)

website: here

relevant HTML:

	<div id="background_container">
   </div><!-- background container -->

relevant CSS:

#background_container{
background: url(images/background_spl.jpg) no-repeat 50% 0%;
height:832px;
}

MSIE 7:

Couldn't you just use it as a page background?

body{background:url('images/background_spl.jpg') no-repeat top center;}

Couldn't you just use it as a page background?

body{background:url('images/background_spl.jpg') no-repeat top center;}

no because the 'contact us' tab slides down when clicked and displaces the whole contents of the page further down. Therefore I included the background image on the actual page itself so it would slide down too...

Try wrapping all the content of the page (the stuff that slides down) within the background container and try using:

#background_container{background:url('images/background_spl.jpg') no-repeat top center}
