May 31, 201016 yr Hi, apart from my laptop which is WiFi enabled, Ive also got a table top computer (XP) which is not WiFi enabled. My router is Netgear. Im thinking of buying this adapter. Will this enable me to connect my table top to my router? I would appreciate any constructive advice. Thanking you, ShedHead. Edited May 31, 201016 yr by Sam G fixed link
May 31, 201016 yr If your desktop is windows vista, then yes. IF it's windows xp or windows 7, check online to see if the appropriate drivers exist, or to see what problems other users have encountered. I've always had a hit an miss experience with dongles, some just work. Others are a pain. (only used belkin and sitecom though, only netgear product i've used is a print server).
May 31, 201016 yr does the desktop need to be moved? Just wondered why you need to have it Wifi to the router. Does it have an ethernet card? Have you thought of homeplug..... http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk/Shop/ShopDetail.asp?ProductID=6021 works a treat and at much faster speeds than g wifi
May 31, 201016 yr I've got that same adapter which came with an old Netgear router I bought years ago, I remember using it on WinXP laptops/desktops in the past with no problem - other than having to install the drivers for it (which are in the CD included with it).
