Ok, i want to start using magento as its perfect for what i want.

However, no matter how i go about installing it it just wont work, i've tried install all the requirments seperatlly ie mysql, apache and magento didnt work.

i then tried installing magento with xampp that didnt work so i tried wamp neither worked so then i tried zend that didnt work so i tried the zend + magento instal and that didnt work! very frustrating instal process!! any ideas what i could be doing wrong? i've deleted all of this stuff off my computer now but can try again and be more specific about the problems is needed.

i've inlcuded a screen shot of an error i cam across with zend and magento installed spereatly.

Yes, Magento install is notoriously difficult from scratch, however a web server with softaculous should have a one click install, if its just for developmental work, I can provide you with some space on a server which has softaculous installed, for free

Ull need a domain name, .tk are free, so register one and PM me the details n ill setup the hosting aspect then

Magento utilizes cookies to work correctly. Cookies have been disabled by many browsers for local host. When you enter id and password, it has become necessary to refresh the admin login page in some browsers. I think your browser causes the problem in installation. I have searched regarding your problem and found a blog very informative : http://www.magentojunction.com/blog/how-to-install-magento-on-xampp-localhost/

lol yes.. great place to start...

as it states Magento requires mcrypt php extension

yum install php-mcrypt

or equivalent for your linux flavour
