I currently use freehostia.com's free plan but I have started to use php forms but their free plan doesn't allow the owner to send emails, only receive them. They also have a limit on the file size. As such I can't upload videos onto one of my pages. Anyone know anywhere that Ican do this for free as I am just building my portfolio up? Regards, Junior

May 17, 201016 yr Of course it's a case of you get what you pay for. Hosting infrastructure costs money (a lot of capital investment to do it properly), and so it's no wonder anyone offering a "free" service is restricting it to encourage you to upgrade to a paid service! At the cost of less than £5/month, is proper hosting really unaffordable - even for a portfolio? (I assume a portfolio is also intended to bring you work? If so, is not £50/year or so a worthwhile investment?)

May 17, 201016 yr I am also interested if there are any good free hosts out there. My parents are starting a B&B as a retirement project so wanted to set them up a website. Will only have about 20 visitors a week I expect. I already have a domain name. Just want a host where adverts don't pop up everywhere really and accepts .css and .html.

I know that £60 a year for a portfolio is not a bad charge but I am just in the process of developing PHP scripts and don't have a way to check that they work. Regards, Junior

Or like I mentioned above if it for developmental work I can sort you out with a small amount if you want
