April 7, 201016 yr Hi All, It's been a while, but I've been so snowed under with uni work, and also some client based websites that I haven't posted for a fair while now , but we're now on our final module so I should have a bit more time to myself soon For my latest module that we finished just last thursday, we were to display our portfolio both online and in print, so I decided on redesigning my 'R and P Design' website to be my main vehicle of displaying work online for now, and after the course. This is version 3 of my website, 2 versions have been directly for projects and 1 was an update for our end of year show last year, hopefully it won't continue being a yearly redesign after this version, but you know what it's like For those who don't know/remember me (small dot in a BIG world), I've completed a 'Multimedia Design' HND, and am currently nearing the end of a BA Hons in 'Visual Design and Communication'. It's been a fun filled few years, and has taught me lots of new skills which will hopefully setup me up on a design related path later this year once we complete the course. Majority of the Design and Motion work displayed on the website comes from uni projects, and the Web designs are from small local client based jobs I've picked up for experience and to build up my portfolio. I would still like to develop the site further, I was considering a blog so I can document current work I'm undertaking, but I haven't got time at the moment as I've only built a wordpress based blog once before, and it took me a bit of time... do need alot more practice in this area Anyways, have a look at the site, let me know what you think, and if you have any ideas for improvements or notice any bugs please let me know. May 19, 201016 yr Author Evening all, I've spent the last few days building a wordpress blog into my website, there are still some UI tweaks I want to carry out, but quite pleased with how it came together in the end and thought it might take a bit longer than it did. Next plan is to change the footer around a bit, and move the main contact form up into an open section above the header... May 20, 201016 yr Author Cheers for the comments Tonight I'm working on a new PHP based contact form, which will hopefully be sitting and working correctly in a little animated drop down header section, and then the footer will pull in a latest posts from the blog feed. Well that is the plan! lol.... the drop header is all working nicely, now to get my head around this form Thanks again for the comments, I really appreciate the feedback. Giz

The font started out as century gothic, but it has gained weight and been adjusted as seen.... Bit of a stressful site editing evening, got rid of the old contact form, this is now replaced with a new PHP version, but had some issues along the way, conflicts with some of the wordpress coding.. which was sorted following the journey through the PHP files, and amending path names, and then finally some expected IE7 positional adjustments needed on the forms validation warnings.... But it is all up and running and working now I decided to keep the contact form at the bottom, as I produced some mock ups of the live blog based feeds there and it wasn't working for me, I like the way the current form breaks the footer up a bit. But this doesn't mean i've dismissed the idea of the drop down section at the top, but this may now incorporate the live feeds there instead... Just got to have a bit of a play tomorrow to fix some IE7 issues that I discovered today, before moving forward with this idea. May 22, 201016 yr For me, the best thing about this website is that you've focused on displaying your work in a very easy to navigate and easy to read way. Sometimes a lot of people go overboard with their portfolio, forgetting that people are going to be visiting it other than you, and it needs to be easy to navigate.

The final update to my site was done today, I have incorporated a live feed section at the top of the site. It shows the latest blog posts, and some of the most recent comments. It is not something everyone will use, but I felt it added a nice touch, and it brought the blog to the other pages in a different way. I do want to slightly tweak the footer to include my social networking icons but this will now wait until my degree has finished, as over the next month I have a lot more work to carry out, including 2/3 web builds for our final module What do you think of the 'Live Feed' section? - Site Link Cheers Giz

Thanks Wasn't going to, but can't get into my other work today, so going to re-adjust my footer tonight, and add a hover graphic on blog link images... just to put the finishing touches to it for now
May 26, 201016 yr Author I like it! Cheers, Ended up just tighten up the footer a little and added a new social sharing plug in, and themed the icons to suit the site as well. Time to take a break from editing the site, and concentrate on building up the blog a bit with weekly posts
