add Simple blog/news functionality to html site

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone.

I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction. I'm putting together a minimal-ish html website, but I want to be able to publish just a couple of blog post/news articles each week (with comments) I know I could of used wordpress etc, but I wanted something small and fast as I don't publish a lot and will only have the articles on one page of the site..

Can anyone point me in the right direction of a good script which would allow me to do this, and that is relatively easy to add to my exsisting website?

I would be truuuuuuuuuuuuuly grateful

Thanks

Martin

Hi Nellyshark:)

I've never heard of pixie script I will go and check it out now. Thanks.

yeah, I'm looking for something preferably php that I can install (or I guess a flat file type would do) but some way of just being able to write a post or news via a page or admin panel, and then have it publish to the news section on the page.

Will go and check out pixie now: thanks

Thanks to NellyS. I can use pixieCMS on another project:)

but I'm still looking for a simple blog/news publishing script that I can add to a normal html website, so if anyone has any ideas, suggestions etc. I would be most grateful

This is exactly what I want on my website, I don't want a external blog like wordpress, blogger anymore, I'd like to have a blog link on my website and for the user to click on it and be able to see my blog posts with comments but all on my website, not taking the visitor elsewhere. Is there a easy way to do this?

Hi PixelBerry,

I only just noticed a reply, did you manage to find something?. I just had a peek at your site (very nice site by the way)and I saw the cute news, and thought. YES! that's what I need. so thanks for that..

I also found this, which I've been testing and I think it would also serve the need pretty well..

Phpnews

the only thing is , this one uses a mysql database as opposed to a flat file. but might be worth checking out if your still looking for a solution:)
