March 27, 201016 yr Hi all, Gonna try my best to explain this. Looking for a script if available..It would be something similar to a price comparison application I guess. This is going to be web based.. So is there an application which will have data inputted via csv from several sources (merchants dbs etc etc) and then output the data in a manner where the end user can select how display the data (Price, Brand, etc etc). An example would be I am buying a bucket of paint Brand XYZ 2ltr. The system would pull the information from say 100 merchants databases and then output the result where I can check by price, brand, etc. Then there is a catch which is a problem imo. However as a painter I would have various discounts with said merchants (10% for 1, 5 from another, 1.15 from another, etc etc) and the discounted value would be the data displayed e.g. I buy from merchant abc with 5% discount, the price shown would be the 95% retail not the 100% retail This is under the assumption that all the relevant data has been provied in the csv file. Does something like this exist? Could it be coded? Thanks Is there an existing app or how would one go about developing a custom one? Edit There will be multiple end users, so I log onto the system as me and it shows my details with my discounts etc etc
March 27, 201016 yr This doesn't exist as far as I am aware. You will need to have it custom coded and it will cost you a fair bit of money
March 27, 201016 yr Is there an existing app or how would one go about developing a custom one? No existing software to do this as far as I know. In terms of developing one yourself, you'll need to have a very good knowledge of a server side scripting language like PHP. It's a very complicated project, so don't expect to be able to complete it in weeks, especially if you're new to coding. You may need the help of an experienced developer.
March 27, 201016 yr Author Thanks for the answers so far, unfortunately they were the answers I was expecting tbh .I know a bit of code but luckily have business relationships with people who would have far more expertise is this field. Thanks though for responses so far. Its the individual discounts functionality thats the killer I expect
March 27, 201016 yr Not really, assuming the discount is the same for all items of a particular store, it's just a case of working out what the store is and applying the discount
March 27, 201016 yr Author Not really, assuming the discount is the same for all items of a particular store, it's just a case of working out what the store is and applying the discount Unfortunately the discount varies for items of a particular merchant. It is a wee bit complicated. Say Merchant A provides me Paint and Paint brushes. Based on last years purchases I receive a 10% discount on Paints and a 5% discount on Brushes. Gonna have to site down and discuss the idea again.
March 27, 201016 yr Well in that case, as long as you categorise them according to those constraints it should work just fine. All you need is an extra field for a foreign key to your categories and their discounts for that merchant

Is this what you are looking for? It's an open source script.
