Flashbacks to the dialup age!

I've just moved into my new apartment and I'm waiting to be connected to an ADSL line. Meanwhile, to prevent complete internet withdrawal symptoms I'm connecting via my mobile phone. ... *nnngh* Did I mention that I normally have 10-20 tabs open, often more? ... well that simply doesn't work anymore! I have to carefully pick the links I click.

The only thing to make this back-to-the-dialup-age re-enactment complete would be if I'd play the sound the old modems made when you connected. ... kindof miss that sound.... you really knew you where connecting to the internet then....

ok, I can't type much more now, otherwise it's going to take ages to post....

damn you could have posted this so much quicker without that emote!

can you really not live without the internet so badly that you are paying for your mobile to do the talking?

I fell in love with the sound of spectrum games loading and when I was older this loved morphed into the magic sound of the internet dial-up connection - I really miss that sound!

Ahhh loading games via tape, watching the pretty coloured lines on screen for 20 minutes, and tha game crashing when it loads! Oh the good old days :)

I've still got my Amstrad 6128 and it still works, although I had to replace the elastic band on the disc drive. Tons of public domain software, still got two boxes of 3 1/2" discs. Pity cpm didn't survive, would have been far more stable than windows.
