Hi Guys

 

Got a customer who is having some real problems with paypal and is looking to possible switch to google checkout,

 

Why are alarm bells ringing in my head?

 

1. i dont think ive come across a single site that uses it

2. the intergration guide stinks

3. the notification api is a completely seperate system

4. it doesnt seem a good idea at all

 

Any opinions?

Google checkout is a legit merchant.

Regarding Google checkout, I am considering going down that route and using them myself.

 

Will hope to do this within the next few days and will keep the forum informed on how I get on.

Most likely you have already done your research but the above discussion is recent and weighs up some of the pros and cons of both.

you might try 2checkout.com its much more widely used many great features and support = recently they have started to accept paypal payments too and u don't need a paypal account to receive paypal payments just need a 2checkout.com account

GoogleCheckout is Legit and very easy to use and intergrate using it's API.
