just wondering how do u all take backups do u do it  by selecting folders through ftp or u use cpanel autobackup of whole site feature

 

 

 

for blog or forum backup i only neeed to backup the theme and template folder which has been changed and import the mysql database from php myadmin is it the right way

 

 

The themes and templates, you will already have because you uploaded them originally, so if you havent changed the files directly on the server, and only variables that are stored in the database, then you can just use a database backup such as found in cpanel backup.

 

Other than that, its easier to grab an entire home directory backup from cpanel, then burn that to disk and put it somewhere safe, with each major upgrade or theme change you make.

 

Thats just 1 way of doing it...

 

Our stuff is backed up every 12 hours, so not really a problem, once everything is working, a malfunction will be spotted very quickly, so can be restored in minutes, or if we accidentally over-wrote something.
