February 7, 201016 yr Hi, I'm looking for a good, stable WYSIWYG editor. I've found loads but they're either way overpriced or just crap! I need one that I can apply a CSS to... so when the user puts say a h1 tag etc. it shows EXACTLY how it would show on the actual page with styles applied... Thanks
February 7, 201016 yr did you mean "apply a cms to", if so try ckeditor Pat Yeh or there is Tiny MCE, FCKEditor, about a hundred others hosted on Google code. Just dig around to find what you are looking for.
February 14, 201016 yr I really like Tiny MCS and FCKEditor the most. I use FCKEditor for Joomla, and use Tiny MCS for CMS Builder and Drupal.
February 17, 201016 yr The best two standalone WYSIWYG HTML editors (rather than CMS or within CMS editors mentioned above) which are also free/open source are probably KompoZer <http://www.kompozer.net/> and Amaya <http://www.w3.org/Amaya/>. There is also Mozilla SeaMonkey <http://www.seamonkey-project.org/> which is a 'suite' which includes an HTML editor (as well as a web browser and email client) but is also open source. All these will work using the recommended method of an HTML file (for content) and a CSS file (for layout) and have a WYSIWYG facility.
