February 7, 201016 yr What are your thoughts on this? I have to produce a spec on what is currently right and wrong with it and could do with more heads giving advice Cheers
February 7, 201016 yr Only thing I can think of is that the text in the 2 pink nav bars at the top and bottom is difficult to read, maybe have it as black text and bold?
February 7, 201016 yr I think it could be improved in terms of the way the information flows down the page. The logo kind of disappears under the weight of the rest of the text on the page, and I think the heirarchy of information is not very clearly defined. Also agree with ^^ about readability.
February 7, 201016 yr TBH it's a very scruffy page which means it does a poor job of guiding your eyes. For example why is the helpline number at the position it is in the banner? It's not centered, it's not in line with anything. Also the bit of the page that *jumps out* and grabbed me was the "Be breast aware" bit with the picture of a random woman from corrie. What I don't know is if that is meant to be the most important part of the page, or if I were to click on it, would I get more info? The little arrow things make me think of directgov as well. Generally it needs a smarter layout, more and better user of whitespace and someone needs to take a decision as to what the most important bits of the page are instead of having lots of big text competing for my attention.
February 8, 201016 yr Hi Ditto about readability of white over pale green and light pink. 1, 1', 1" - needs more space. 2 ,2', 2" - rounded corners do not match the general style. All 3 elements have different light sources. 3 - poor gray icons. 4 - weird piece of woman. This banner should be visually separated from other elements of the page (borders or/and non-white, maybe well-textured background). Picture of young pretty woman should be well retouched. Perhaps, it would be better if the button not come over a garota. Hope it helps. http://volodko.ru/tuning/terydinho.jpg
February 8, 201016 yr Hi, your navigation/phone number area seems a bit cramped. Plus, the area underneath with the 2 tabs is too close - I would adjust your spacing a bit. Also, you have used gradients & shadows in some areas but not others. The tabbed area needs some more detail as it looks flat compared to the rest of the site. Otherwise I think it's nice design wise. I didn't read your content.
February 9, 201016 yr Author Oh thanks for the comments, it's not my design though hehe I am just critiquing it for a job interview
February 9, 201016 yr Hi, it's not my design though Oh, if I knew it, I would not be so harsh. I am just critiquing it for a job interview As empolyer? Or on the other side of the barricades?
February 10, 201016 yr Author on the other side - got potential to go in on a contract to revamp all of their online offerings
February 10, 201016 yr First impressions: 1: everything needs more padding 2: colour scheme is weak and doesn't promote focus on key content 3: there is no clear information hierarchy on the page - a lot of the type is set large and bold, try and use size, weight and style more effectively.
