I AM LOOKING FOR SOME ‘OFF THE SHELF’ E-LEARNING SOFTWARE TO INCOPRPORATE INTO MY WEBSITE

Hi There,

Hopefully someone may be be able to offer some advice to me as my searches , while proving relatively helpful at the start are now confusing me a little.

I am developing a website that requires the use of a number of teacher/student modules, each of which must be completed successfully before moving on to the next, coupled with the possibility for course payment at each stage.

I need to be able to offer feedback between teacher/student and for the studentst to be able to view all correspondence on line.

I don’t want to have to veer away from the branding of the website so I need any e-learning software to sit within my existing web structure.

I did find this company from the US. http://www.profusionproducts.com/content/association/association.asp , that had a package that could provide the following which looks jus abopuit what I am after.

Member database.

Membership billing system.

Website content management.

Personalized broadcast email and newsletter system.

Online members' area.

Online dues payment.

Attendance tracking.

Event calendar.

Event registration system.

Testimonials submission and management tool.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) module.

Banner advertising manager.

Multi-user administrative privileges.

So many things that I am unclear of :

1. With existing off the shelf e-learning software packages do these need to be hosted on the software providers servers

2. Do you have to pay dependent on the number of students using the system

3. Are course payment systems standard in e-learning software packages

I know I have not been fantastically clear but was hoping someone may have experience in doing something similar and can point me in the right direction.

I am after something I can mange myself and needs very limited outside help in its initaila set up

HELP !!!

Thnakyou very much in advance

Thanks very much for that. I've seen Moodle mentioned a lot and obviously advantage is that it is free. I do have some client funds (not much) and weondered if there were off the shelf packages available. Whenever i see moodle applications they don't look very nice (can someone point me in direction of some neat professional looking sites). I was ideally hoping to have the course sitting inside my existing website or is this not possible.?

Sorry i really have no clue about this so any help really is appreciated
