Please can someone help with this corrupted template?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am doing another freebie website as a favour (self catering cottage) and downloaded this free template. However looking at it online, it seems corrupted prior to downloading it (in both IE and firefox). I downloaded it, opened it in dreamweaver and yes the pictures are not coming up to the right of the nav bar (on left side). Instead the bedroom pictures are coming up below.

I am sure this is simple enough but have spent a while looking through the code trying to figure out where it went wrong. Please can someone give me some pointers?

(click on demo - middle bottom left) then it takes you through to the demo page - which shows the picture of the bed underneath the site (I assume it should be to the right like the link above)

Any help very much appreciated.

You need to add a width to the <div class="flash"> element.

If you are floating elements, you must specify their width, otherwise it's set as 100%.

Look for this in your CSS file:

.flash {
    float:left;
    margin:0 0 14px;
}

And change it to this:

.flash {
    float:left;
    margin:0 0 14px;
    width: 466px;
}

Cheers!

Thanks - this is all I can find:

<div class="flash">

<img src="images/topcorn.gif" alt="" width="466" height="3" />

<img src="images/flash.jpg" alt="" width="466" height="353" border="0" usemap="#Map" />

<img src="images/botcorn.gif" alt="" width="466" height="3" />

</div>

Any suggestions please? I'll have a little play in the meantime. Not sure about floating - haven't learnt that yet! :)

OK - I was being really thick and changed the code in index.htm rather than stylesheet. I have changed it and it works perfectly now. THANK YOU very much. You will make a older lady incredibly happy - now I can rock on and do her site :)

Thanks ~Webby
