Archive - Changing a standard list to drop-down list?

Featured Replies

On a website I created I included an archive page, at the moment it is just an ever expanding list that can be a pain to navigate. Here it is.

I would like to make it more dynamic, where a user can choose the month and year from 2 drop-down lists and click a button to open the relevant PDF. Similar to how this page functions.

The problem is, that I don't know how to do this.

Can anyone here help me with this please?

The example you gave does this on the server using .NET - even if you know the ASP .NET programming language you won't be able to do this unless your server is hosted on a Windows environment (as opposed to Linux).

You can however do this dynamically on the web page itself using Javascript.

Take a look at this example:

A Javascript Drop-Down List of Links

It's a tutorial which shows you the basic mechanics of what you need to do, you will probably need to do some customising of that code since you want to use two drop down lists.

Thank you, I appreciate it!
