I have recently taught my self basic PHP and want to make a smal web site where users can send xmas list etc the back end coming along well but the design of the front end is harder than i expected. Can anyone help with a good layout.

The very basic page http://www.lapland-mail.com

but i have been working on http://www.lapland-mail.com/redesign

and what is there is horrible, i admit its crap.

Any help is appreciated :D

The new design could do with clearer writing on the menu, especially as it goes over some images.

also

i would recommend some CSS on your form

your nav is off...post-7-1198681063_thumb.jpg

what browser you using? hmmmm it works in both ie7 and firefox lol....

You've set your menu to be fixed and it is independant from your central column background - when I change the size of my browser window the background central colum moves about in relation to the size of the window but the navigation stays fixed. I made a few changes and now the navigation moves with the header and the problem is sorted.

@charset "utf-8";
/* CSS Document */

/*Forces scroll bar on in firefox*/
html
{
height:100%;
margin-bottom: 1px;
}

body{
font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
color:#000000;
font-size:12px;
background: url(images/snow_back2.gif);
margin: 0px;
padding: 0px:
}

#wrapper{
width: 765px;
margin: 0 auto;
margin-top:25px;
background:#0099CC;
border: 1px solid #000000;
}

#header{
	margin: 0 auto;
height:200px;
}

#navbar img{
	border: none;
	}

#navbar ul{
list-style-type: none;
}

#navbar li{
margin-left: 15px;
display: inline;
}
