January 1, 201016 yr Hi I have question about the way you use colours on a website. Is it best to have the main background a darker colour and then say the content boxes are a lighter colour or the other way round?
January 1, 201016 yr I bet you saw both didn't you? It depends. With the right contrast and color choice it can look good either way.
January 1, 201016 yr Colour choices on any website can be determined on a lot of things. Personal preference of the client Setting the right theme for the site - light pastel colours can promote a softer look while darker or stronger colours a more dramatic feel Matching a company logo or corporate theme Content - some content or images show up better on darker backgrounds and others on lighter backgrounds etc You see there is really no set rules which are standard to all sites when selecting colour choices - however, one trap which many new designers fall into - is to use too many conflicting or contrasts of colours that can make a site look load and garish. Remember sometimes less is more! Hope this in some small way helps.
