December 22, 200916 yr I don't see any Adwords subforum so I'll post here. My one ad is targeted geographically to two places in England. My website statistics say someone has clicked on an ad in America. I'm not an idiot, I know how to work Adsense and I haven't done anything wrong. It wouldn't matter so much if the ad was something like 2p a click, but I payed a lot of money to be on the first page for people in that location for my chosen keyword. Has anyone else had this problem? Should I cut loose from Adsense before it steals all my advertising savings? Edit: I was just googling the IP and found that 74.125.126.81 is a Google IP. Google clicked my ad and charged me for it?
December 30, 200916 yr Author Just updating. I emailed Google and asked what was going on. They didn't reply but the click mysteriously disappeared.
December 30, 200916 yr I've not had any problem with geographic targeting. Generally those ads with narrow geo targeting produce a very low impression rate because most of the time the ip address can't always indicate the location of the user. So the opposite problem to you. Good luck with contacting Google.
January 3, 201016 yr Author That wasn't my problem. The problem was that on inspection of a click form California I realised it was a Google IP, so Google had clicked my ad.
