Creating a UGC Site w/ linked In App

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am thinking about setting up a site where users can sign up and submit articles- this will be connected to a 'Linked In' application that users can access from their profile.

Now for the stupid (but necessary) questions:

1. I presume I can't knock this up in Dreamweaver, will I need a content management system set up?

2. How learnable is all of this bearing in mind I am pretty busy? If not, am I going to need to be a millionaire?

3. Will I need a certain type of specialist for a linked In app?

Cheers!!

Leon

I'm not sure but have you looked at whether Wordpress could do what you want - it does have loads of add-ons and in my opinion easier to use than Dreamweaver. I don't know if there is a linkedin app but am pretty sure someone will have written one for WP.

Personal, i think this would be a nice little project to start learning a server-side language in which I suggest PHP.

Start Googleing "learning PHP" and "wampserver".
