I have been contacted by the following company http://www.mediabug.com/ about placing an ad on my home page. Looking at their site it seems to be a professional outfit and I can't see it directly affecting my own business so I don't really have an issue with placing an ad on the home page. They have asked for the ad to appear for three months and have said they will pay me for this service. They have not suggested how much they are willing to pay and as I've never been asked this type of thing before was wondering how much I should suggest? Or...should I avoid this altogether, I can't see it having any major SEO benefit to my own site.
November 17, 200916 yr I'd take it up as a little extra cash, user and ad tracking script to get results of clicks and so on. maybe charge on a per click basis? 0.02 per click?
November 17, 200916 yr It depends - if it's your portfolio/commercial site don't do it - it will make you look fairly unprofessional, i certainly wouldn't purchase a service from you as it'd give me the impression you don't earn enough from your primary business.
November 19, 200916 yr You can charge a little more than what you are making from google adsense on that place.
