November 16, 200916 yr Hi guys and girls! I'm coding a website for a friend of mine. It's basically finished, everything works good on my desktop. When I put it on line some of the pages don't show background or some link :S Any one have ideas? Here is the site Thanks alot!
November 16, 200916 yr I did find that the main background image on some pages didn't show until I refreshed the page. This one http://tommyart.nl/image/PNG%20BG/contact.png is 557kB which is very large for a webpage.
November 16, 200916 yr I did find that the main background image on some pages didn't show until I refreshed the page. This one http://tommyart.nl/image/PNG%20BG/contact.png is 557kB which is very large for a webpage. I always try to compress my images to less than 100 kb by adjusting the resolution. I don't know if that is the correct way but that is the way I learnt. I also try to size the image to the same size I want it to appear on the site, if possible, as well as stating width/height in the coding (this should speed up the loading of the screen. I also notice that your background image is over 800kb which seems very high to me. Hope you have some success.
November 17, 200916 yr are you sure that image/PNG%20BG/bg_about.png is in your images folder. When I try and go to that image directly it says that the link is broken!
November 19, 200916 yr Looks like you've sorted this. Simple, but I do quite like the retro look. Well done.
