payment page

Featured Replies

Hello, my latest project requires me to create some sort of a payment page with the option of paypal and google checkout. Initially i was thinking paypal and google buy buttons but it seems my client wants something more indepth. Basically he uses different forms created using machform so hes going to redirect those to this payment page and my guess is he wants to bring some of the info over from the forms to the payment page calculating the cost, so maybe using some php. I really dont know where to begin with this now, how would something like this be done ?

Most payment gateways require you to pass information to there API's.

For example, with RBS Worldpay, you post from a form straight to the RBS Worldpay website with the total cost and currency type etc. So you would calculate the cost, then post it to RBS Worldpay and it's no longer in your control.

You'd really need to decide which gateway you are going to use and learn how the API works.

Well this is just something simple so they wont need worldpay, there looking to use paypal and googlecheckout in the form of a button. The user will be redirected to this payment page once the form is filled out, some variables are sent over to the payment page calculating the cost or product, etc and then they should simply have the option of paying via paypal or googlecheckout. I think paypal has somthing like this but googlecheckout im not sure.

Hi

Payypal will allow you to pass over certain options such as size, colour etc from a third party shopping cart its a bit finnicky but works a treat.

to see it in action look at www.sensuallady.co.uk add a product with some options and checkout to see how paypal deals with it.

Obviously there is quite a bit of php involved but nothing to drastic

After you build the script you must get a payment processor from paypal to process the payment
