October 29, 200917 yr Hi, I've got a png overlaying another png as a bg image. The first png is aligned next to a normal div. the first png and the div have the exact same colors but they look different in IE. In IE the png image is a lot darker. In firefox, it's a lot less noticeble. Any ideas on fixing this. Cheers Andy
November 3, 200917 yr You mention IE but not a version and you don't mention whether you've applied the PNG fix. Is there a URL we can see it so we can better understand and offer help?

In the end I just used a gif. It was particularly strange. I think the version was IE6. Anyway, it was the version that shipped with visual studio 08.
November 6, 200916 yr IE6 & IE7 have a png bug specifically in the gAMA section of the file. It misinterprets the information provided in this section causing them it to render the png darker. The easiest solution is just to remove the gAMA chunk. For that i use this little program. http://entropymine.com/jason/tweakpng/
