October 29, 200916 yr Hi, im looking to design a website similar to this or exact same (just for learning) I have photoshop cs4 and dreamweaver cs4, is there any tutorials that you have seen online (youtube) that could help me make a site like this, ive seen a few using photoshop and a few using dreamweaver which confused the hell out of me, do i design on photoshop and then code on dreamweaver or do it all on dreamweaver.... please help as im confused very confused lol!
October 29, 200916 yr Youve asked a very open question! :-) Are you planning on designing sites for companies or just a personal one? Do you have any code experience? Do you know the basics of html and css? Can you use dreamweaver and photoshop? When you say 'this' website, do you mean the forum?

The best thing if you are just starting is to use the built in tutorials in dreamweaver. Or search for first dreamweaver site. You could probably make the site shown in dreamweaver once you are competent. I would play around with dreamweaver and that interface and then transfer what you know to photoshop.

If you’re serious in learning in more detail then you have 3 options: 1. Books – loads of types out there like “dummy” – “learn in 24 hours” – “brilliant” 2. Use free online tutorials (written with typo and photos) 3. Pay for a decent video tutorial site – I use www.Lynda.com. I can only comment on the one I use so you will have to see what site works for you. You can find free video tutorials around put I personally found they were either not great or not all info is available and I wanted to go start to end of learning something. Torrix
October 30, 200916 yr As said earlier, it all depends on what your goals are and how much knowledge you have. Lynda.com is a great resource. I used this for about a year until I learned Dreamweaver and Photoshop. I've created some free- though very rudimentary- tutorials on how to set up a basic table in Dreamweaver (using the table as a framework to house your website): Create website in Dreamweaver free tutorial Once again, nothing fancy...no CSS, very basic and simple design structure. It should do the trick for the site you are trying to create though...using less columns and rows. Keep in mind, it's not the layout you are trying to create, but it gives a general idea of how the basics of maneuvering around in Dreamweaver. More advanced tutorials to come on the site... I also have a very, very basic tutorial on how to design a banner graphic in Photoshop:Create Graphics in Photoshop again...these are basic tutorials and I am sure there are other good tutorials out there also. I am no Dreamweaver or Photoshop expert...but I've learned over the years just how to get by with what I needed for the moment. Hope they help some.
October 31, 200916 yr To be honest m8, that site is not much to build up to. You could create a site looking alot like that with just a few days learning basic HTML/CSS. If you want to make a site like that, my advice is to forget Dreamweaver for now and go read up basic HTML/CSS on w3schools, HTML Dog, etc. Then you'd be able to combine those skills with some graphics made in Photoshop and most proberly having a prettier looking site gl&hf ~evu.
