I'm planning on doing a website which allows people to write reviews for certain products and was wondering how I would go about doing that. Something along the lines of the way The Carphone Warehouse website allows you to write a review for phones.

 

So far I've only done static websites and I'm still pretty much a novice when it comes to building websites.

 

 

Any advice would be welcome.

if youve got limited knowledge of database languages and scripting then I'd suggest you go down the route of installing Wordpress and adding some plugins. I had a quick search and found the following plugin that would let you handle user reviews...

If you've got a fair bit of time and you want to roll your own solution then you would need a backend database that tracks the products and messages that are left by users. You can then query this database and generate markup to display in your products pages. If you've got the stomach for it then I would recommend rolling your own solution and not relying on third party controls / code as you keep complete control over what is displayed and how it is displayed.
