2 scripts conflicting - one stops the other functioning

Featured Replies

I've noticed that all pages on one of my website's that use both Lightbox and jqueryslidemenu.css/js Lightbox is the only script that functions, on any page without Lightbox, the drop-down menu works OK.

Here is one of the pages in question

I don't see what's causing the 2 scripts to conflict or how to fix this, but would really appreciate some help!

EDIT: My mistake, it's actually the other way around; the drop-down menu stops Lightbox from working.

I don't know to be honest but can i suggest that you move the two photo's below the fold(halfway down the page). That way it breaks the page up nicely and you will probably solve the lightbox problem?

OK, in IE Lightbox works while menu doesn't.

In Safari it's vice versa.

Not sure about FF as it isn't working on my laptop but I think it's the same as IE.

Don't understand what you mean neilp.

I would either take a look at jQuery.noConflict( ) or use a jquery implementation of lightbox of which there seem to be many linky

Thanks mate, I liked the look of the jQuery Fancybox you linked to and have decided to use that. It seems to be working alongside the menu OK on the one page I've tried it on so far (haven't uploaded anything yet).

One thing that concerns me though, is that I had to remove the following line of code:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.2.6/jquery.min.js"></script>

I can't remember what it relates to, but nothing seems to have messed up, pardon my ignorance but do you know what it's for?
