November 22, 200718 yr Hey everyone. I'm working on revamping my portfolio site, and I came up with a pretty basic idea that I would like some feedback on. It's just a .jpg at the moment, since I want to get the design down solid before I attempt to code it all. I'm pretty much a beginner when it comes to the back-end stuff, so I want to keep it relatively simple. http://thedesignmix.com/bg.jpg The big content area would include a larger image of whatever is being viewed (on the left), text describing that image on the right top, and abstract thumbnails of the other images in that section on the bottom right. The navigation would expand when one of the main areas is clicked on (i.e. click digital and the subcategories interactive, identity, websites, paint, and posters would load in the same nav area).. this explains the large navigation box. Any ideas and critique would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
November 22, 200718 yr Hi candeso, I like peaceful colors, and harmony on it. I like shadows too In my eyes the navigation box needs something.. How about a horitzontal menubar with dropdown menus?

November 25, 200718 yr I too like it a lot. Its nice and very attractive. I think the navigation is fine, and will come together when you code it. You must add a hover effect on it to make it stand out...I would like to see an image to the left of each navigational link...like a custom bullet. I think that the rounded corners will be a pain to work with. I would rather use square than deal with rounded ones; however that is totally up to you as it is your choice if you want to take the challenge or not. Overall great layout
