November 21, 200718 yr Hi, does anyone know where i can find tutorials for building an online shop or pre built online shops that i can sample and look at their code? preferably shops scripted with php. thanks, Duncan
November 22, 200718 yr What do you mean? Like view the php code? There's: - CubeCart (my favourite) - ZenCart - osCommerce All of which are free. (the newest version of cubecart isn't free but you can still download the older version from their site for free)
November 22, 200718 yr You might try OpenSourceCMS (recommended by Dizi in another thread) - they include a ton of popular e-commerce programs that you can demo direct from the site (left side menu, scroll down to the CMS Demo Menu). Once you've picked one with a functionality that you like, I'm sure we can help you find some tutorials for it. (I personally have used OSCommerce and ZenCart, the latter of which is a bit more feature-rich but also slightly harder to grasp.)
November 22, 200718 yr Whatever you do, don't use Actinic. My friend has paid a few grand for this Actinic site, he has to update everything through there special downloaded software which constantly crashes.. orders take a few minutes to check and he can't edit the site easily to make small changes or add conversion and stat codes.
November 22, 200718 yr yeah.. designArrow... i would not use Actinic if you could help it... there software alone is over 500 pound... then you have to design the site etc...
November 22, 200718 yr Including the guy who is arranging it for him and the chap that did the data input it has so far cost £6000. Now they're looking and SEO and PPC marketing and being quoted in the thousands... :S
